Shapely Meadows Prototypes

Today we received three very hug-able stuffed toy prototypes for our series Shapely Meadows (special thanks to the Morison whizzes "Grandma Morison" - when it comes to a needle and thread there's none better).

About two weeks away from packaging the final pitch materials, we are eager to hit the streets.

Along with our cuddly friends, we will have a pitch bible; synopsis, character descriptions, episodic outline, and the very first online Eco-Friendly (paper free) pitch that will be sent around the world.

We will be looking to partner with a studio in order to produce a sizzle for future marketing at Mipcom Jr, as well as the production of the series once sold to a broadcaster.

If you are interested in learning more about Shapely Meadows, please contact Brandon Gasner at bgasner@sixaces.ca to set up a meeting, or to request the online pitch material.

It's as simple as CIRCLE, SQUARE, TRIANGLE!

We don't want to give too much away, but here's a little teaser of our latest original series development named Shapely Meadows.

Shapely Meadows is a 3D pre-school series that teaches children about the world around them, while dancing, singing and having fun alongside Kiki, Blake and Santos!

For more information on Shapely Meadows, please contact Brandon Gasner.

Will & Dewitt nominated for a 2008 Gemini Award

This year's Gemini Awards, for the best of Canadian Television, has nominated Will & Dewitt for the Best Pre-School Program or Series.

Synopsis
The trouble with being a kid is that there seems to be a lot more things that you can't do than things you can do! Sometimes you just need that extra boost of confidence to push you long. Will, an everyday kid who wants to do it all, jumps into new situations with help from his best friend, cheerleader and morphing frog pal, Dewitt.

As many of you know, from earlier posts, the Six Aces gang designed the episodic fun packs for the first season of Will & Dewitt (creating characters, props and layouts for the show). And even though we will not be the ones receiving the award, we are still very excited and proud to have been a part of the production.

We'd like to wish Cookie Jar good luck, and we hope Will & Dewitt takes home the award!

Producers of Will & Dewitt; Susie Grondin, Michael Hirsh, Pamela Slavin, Toni Stevens and Toper Taylor are from Cookie Jar Entertainment Inc.

Six Aces Farewell

(Pic: Terry Ververgaert, Justin Morison, Brandon Gasner & Leo Martin)

Six Aces Productions would like to say 'thanks and good luck' to two of its finest; Leo Martin and Terry Ververgaert.

Both members of the original six, Leo and Terry worked on developing Public Service Announcements, Saskwatch and designed on the kids' animated series Will & Dewitt.

As part of the creative department Leo kept everyone smiling and laughing at his numerous impressions and jokes, while Terry was always good for some weekend stories.

Both ex-directors have signed on to offer their services in the industry; Terry with Keyframe Animation and Leo with Starz Animation in Toronto.

Thanks for all the memories and hope you'll be back soon.

Some more PSA Characters

We'd like to give a shout out to Jarrett Young for being the sexiest animator out there today (no offense to anyone else who believes to be the sexiest animator out there today).

Now on to some serious business. Here are some more characters from the PSA short. The mother and kid are supposed to be of Trailer Park persuasion and spend a small amount of time on screen. Expect the designs to change by the time final animation is completed. We are going to be trying some techniques that we haven't really seen used yet (til then, it's our little secret).

Enjoy!
------
For those of you who are interested in animating in Flash, or being a poser, we will be posting some of the PSA .fla's for educational purposes once the film has been completed.
